Rhythms of a Faithful Journey: Verses from Slavery to Presidency

20 Jan Rhythms of a Faithful Journey: Verses from Slavery to Presidency

A conversation with authors Robin Miller and James Walter Miller, whose book,  Rhymes of a Faithful Journey,  is a collection of narrative quilts and poetry that carries the reader on a journey through African American history from slavery to presidency. The writing is emotional, descriptive, and thought-provoking.

The accompanying quilts are as powerful as the poems, making the experience of the poetry visually stimulating. As a whole, this book is a work of art unto itself. Surprisingly, the medium is not fabric. These mixed media collage quilts have been uniquely created by Robin, who currently has a featured exhibit at the Falmouth Museums on the Green through February 25 and will speak there on February 17.  Click here for details.

Robin also will be appearing on February 1 at 6 pm. at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, where she will speak about the influence of Jazz on art. Click here for details.

Miller’s also is featured at the Zion Union Heritage Museum on the trail.  Click here for a virtual tour of her exhibit.
