Matt Charette, Director of the Woods Hole Sea Grant and Senior Scientist in the Department of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry department, will talk about the important work on Permeable Reactive Barriers as he addresses the question: Could vegetable oil be a solution to the water quality issues in the Cape’s coastal ponds?

Join us for the final lecture in our annual science lecture. The theme for this year’s science lecture series at Highfield is exploring local environmental issues: what is being done in the ponds, streams, and marshes in the area to preserve our natural resources that are part of the identity of Cape Cod. The Cape is home to a vibrant scientific community conducting meaningful environmental work with potentially wide impact. We are pleased to invite Dr. Charrette to share his work with us.
