Amplify POC Cape Cod and Cotuit Center for the Arts are proud to partner in presenting these two special concert events.
You know Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington and The Count. All Black American icons of jazz. But did you know that Cape Cod has a long history of iconic performances of well-know jazz musicians, as well as local singers and musicians emerging? Please join us and Amplify POC for this exciting collaborative program of story and song. We will spotlight the contributions of black people to the original American music called jazz, featuring professional jazz singers, Tish Adams and Candida Rose.
Saturday night Tish Adams will perform a Billie Holiday tribute interwoven with storytelling about Billie’s life and career.
Candida Rose will perform jazz with Cape Verdean Creole or Kriolu language, cultural and African dance influences.
Come if you love jazz! You will not only hear fantastic performances, but you will learn the black origins and history of jazz. You don’t want to miss this exquisite program.
