Faces of the American Revolution: Portraits by John Singleton Copley with Mary Woodward

| $15 – $20Born into a poor Boston family in 1738, John Singleton Copley became the painter of the highest social set through his self-taught talent, industrious work ethic and great ambition. Mary Woodward, an art historian and HSOY Trustee, will explain how Copley accomplished this transition to become the preferred choice of rebels and royalists alike who wanted their likenesses captured for posterity, and is today recognized as the finest portrait painter in Colonial America.
