| $25Bass River Arts Campus
Sat, Sep 14, 7:30pm Price: $25
Pianist Ana Glig and cellist Jacques Lee Wood present two of the most celebrated cello sonatas: Beethoven’s A Major Sonata and Chopin’s G Minor Sonata. In this concert, Ana and Jacques delve into the heart of these masterpieces, exploring the nuances of each composer’s unique voice while celebrating the timeless beauty and emotional power of cello sonatas. Ludwig van Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 3 in A Major, embodies the composer’s mature style, balancing lyrical beauty with structural complexity. Its soaring melodies and intricate interplay between cello and piano make it a cornerstone of the cello repertoire, showcasing Beethoven’s mastery of form and expression. Frédéric Chopin’s Cello Sonata in G Minor offers a contrasting yet equally profound experience. Known for its Romantic lyricism and emotional depth, Chopin’s sonata explores the full range of the cello and piano’s expressive capabilities, interweaving each voice creating a dialogue that is both intimate and expansive.
