Made at the Museum: Magnificent Maritime

Join Mary Wilson from the Coalition for Children for a parent-child play & learn series that encourages hands-on play and discovery!

In this 4-week series for children ages 3-6 years (siblings welcome), families will explore navigation, maps, ships, boats, sea life and more in the art and artifacts at the Museums on the Green. Then get crafty with a hands-on art activity to take home. Space is limited.

Meets at 1PM on Thursdays Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 27 and Mar 6. Does NOT meet when public schools are closed on Feb 20th.

NO COST thanks to the Falmouth Historical Society’s Caroline S. Lloyd Memorial Fund and the Coordinated Family & Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant.

The Coalition for Children is an education and support program for caregivers with children from birth to age 6 funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Magnificent Maritime topics include:
Navigation & Maps: we’ll explore maps and other navigational tools that are used on a ship
Sea Life: we’ll explore whales, fish, sea birds and other unique, beautiful and mysterious sea creatures
Sailor’s Valentines: for Valentine’s Day, we’ll explore the unique shell crafts that sailors brought home from voyage at sea and gave to loved ones.
Ships & Boats: before there were cars and trains, boats were the fastest way to travel! Explore different types of watercraft and how they have changed over time.
